2007年11月6日，美国新泽西州普林斯顿市 ── 美国教育考试服务中心（ETS）与中国国家教育部考试中心（考试中心）今天宣布，通过积极的网络建设和优化，截至2007年12月底，中国托福网考（TOEFL iBT®）网上报名系统总考位数将从2007年6月约1950个增长至逾3550个，仅6个月中实现网络扩容80％的增长，以满足中国考生对托福考试日益增长的需求。
ETS国际部高级副总裁保罗?拉姆齐（Paul A. Ramsey）先生表示：“ETS致力于确保中国考区考试容量满足所有中国考生的需求，我们非常感谢考试中心为此所做的不懈努力。目前，全球逾110个国家和地区的6000余所大专院校均认可托福考试成绩，中国考区托福考生人数持续积极增长。我们非常感谢中国考生对托福网考的高度认可和支持。”
通过ETS和考试中心双方采取的一系列切实有效的措施，中国托福网考网络目前已覆盖全国28个城市73个考场。具体城市和考场分布如下：

Princeton, N.J. (November 6, 2007) — Educational Testing Service (ETS) and China’s National Education Examinations Authority (NEEA) announced today that, with proactive network construction and optimization efforts, the capacity of TOEFL® iBT seats in China will expand from approximately 1,950 in June to over 3,550 by the end of 2007, an increase of 80% in only six months.? The added capacity is one of several initiatives taken by ETS and NEEA to meet increased demand for the world-leading English language proficiency exam in China.
“ETS is committed to ensuring that everyone in China who wishes to take the test has an opportunity to do so,” says Paul A. Ramsey, Senior Vice President of ETS’s Global Division. “We are deeply grateful to NEEA for their continuous efforts to this commitment.? TOEFL scores are accepted by more than 6,000 colleges and universities in over 110 countries, and the number of TOEFL test takers in China has been growing steadily.?
