Beijing, China (December 7, 2010) — Educational Testing Service (ETS), the creator of the TOEFL test, announced today that the TOEFL Scholarship Program recognizing academic excellence by TOEFL test takers will be offered for the second consecutive year in China. The 2011 TOEFL Scholarship Program will issue awards valued at approximately US$82,500, an increase of more than US$20,000 in award funding over the 2010 TOEFL Scholarship Program.

A total of 48 TOEFL scholarships will be awarded to Chinese students demonstrating academic excellence. Three US$5,000 scholarships and 45 US$1,500 scholarships will be presented to Chinese students for academic study in 2011, including in the U.K., Canada and the United States.
