Simon Fraser University (SFU) 西蒙弗雷泽大学是以加拿大一位十九世纪探险家Simon Fraser的名字命名，创建于1965年9月，是加拿大享有盛名的大学之一，在教学质量、未来领导者、综合实力以及最具创新方面，被加拿大权威时事杂志Maclean’s Magazine评为全加综合类大学第二，有“加拿大最有价值的综合性大学”的美誉。

西蒙弗雷泽大学位于加拿大大不列颠哥伦比亚省伯纳比市，伯纳比市是加拿大西海岸最大的商业、工业和金融中心。西蒙弗雷泽大学现有3个校区，它们分别是Burnaby，Vancouver和Surrey校区。主校区在Burnaby，大学主要的学院和行政部门都设在这里，Vancouver和Surrey校区，主要是半日制(Part Time)和夜校课程。Burnaby校区的面积为174万平方米，拥有建筑物260,000立方米，海拔400米。Vancouver校区拥有建筑物19,509立方米，该校区开放于1989年，每学期约有1,800名本科生及400名研究生就读于Vancouver校区。Surrey校区在2006年秋季正式投入使用，在此之前Surrey校区的教学都在临时的教学楼进行。现在Surrey校区拥有本科生1,100名，研究生100名。该校区现提供arts and social sciences，interactive arts and technology，computing science，science and business administration方面的本科课程及interactive arts and technology方面的研究生课程，还提供一些继续教育课程等。

SFU是加拿大的一所中等规模的文理科综合性大学，现有在校师生27,429名，其中师资人数759名，本科学生人数23,480名，研究生3,190名，国外留学生人数861名，所占比例为5%。作为一所综合性大学，西蒙弗雷泽设置的专业较全面，涉及艺术、科学、应用科学、商业与教育，课程也较灵活。学期有春、夏、秋三季，学生可任意选择申请入学。同时，函授教育与夜校课程使得许多人可以兼顾学习与工作。该校的合作教育也搞得有声有色，学生在毕业之前就已在将来可能从事的岗位上实习。

[ 学术介绍 ]

西蒙弗雷泽大学的课程采用教学和导修互相配合，大部分科目每周会安排两堂教学和一堂导修，让学生之间有更多的讨论机会。

另外，大学实行三学期制的实习课程(Co-op Program)，分九月、一月和五月三个学期，除第一学年外，其余三学年是上课与实习相间，即学生在大学上一学期课后，便到与课程有关的机关实习一学期，再回大学上课，如此类推。这类课程的好处是学生有把课堂的理论用于实践的机会，增加工作经验，以及赚取生活费；坏处则较其他大学的学生迟一二年才毕业。所以，学生宜先把各自的好处、坏处和自己的兴趣、经济能力一并考虑清楚，才报读这类Co-op课程。它注重教学的实用性，课堂教学与课外实践紧密结合，帮助学生在专业相关领域参加带薪实习以扩大知识面，为将来适应社会做好准备。

大学设有应用理学院、文学院、工商管理学院、教育学院、理学院和健康科学学院，可提供100多个专业，跨学科专业涉及40多个领域。

　　商学院：工商行政管理、经济学、政府管理、统计学；

　　艺术和人文学院：英语语言、英语文学及作品、外语与外国文学、自然资源科学、表演艺术；

[ 学制 ] 

一般来说，本科生为3-4年，研究生为2-4年，博士生为4-6年。

西蒙弗雷泽大学一学年分为春季、秋季、夏季三个学期，秋季9月-12月，春季1月-4月，夏季5月-8月，每学期四个月左右。

[ 申请程序 ]

基本入学要求：

本科：

(1) 高中毕业，成绩优秀(中国大学入学考试成绩在63%以上)

(2) TOEFL 机考230分以上(TWE 4.5)；TOEFL网考88分以上，每部分的成绩要求在20分以上； 雅思6.5分或以上

(3) LPI (Language Proficiency Index)考试成绩5分以上，每部分成绩必须在60%以上

西蒙弗雷泽大学对于英语成绩达到IELTS 5.5或TOEFL机考207分的学生可提供为期10个月的英语培训课程，称为English Bridge Program (EBP)，通过EBP课程后，学生可转到本科的相关课程继续学习。详情请浏览这里。
